Henry Harrison Ritchey

June 8, 1932 ~ April 13, 2020 (age 87)


Henry Harrison Ritchey, 87, of Churchview Rd. New Enterprise, passed away on April 13, 2020 at Conemaugh Nason Medical Center in Roaring Spring. He was born on June 8, 1932 in New Enterprise, son of the late Delmer H. and Iva G. (Koontz) Ritchey. On June 8, 1952 he was united in marriage to his first wife Caroline (Ulery) Ritchey; she preceded him in death in February of 1990. On August 10, 1991 he married his second wife, G. Louise (Shoenfelt) (Imler) Ritchey. Henry was a graduate of the Replogle High School Class of 1952 and member of the Koontz Church of the Brethren. He served as Deacon and Trustee and his great-grandfather donated the land for which the church currently sits. Henry was a dairy farmer all of his life, retiring between 1994-1995. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and was involved in numerous dairy farming associations. Henry was preceded in death by his first wife Caroline and a brother D. Elwood Ritchey. Surviving are his wife G. Louise Ritchey; daughter Evelyn Hipple and husband James of Hawaii; daughter Beverley Connelly-Brown of South Carolina; step-son Donald Imler of Dubois; step-son Robert Imler of Utah; sisters Dorothy Veach, Delma Over, and Velma Steele; brother Ronald Ritchey; as well as 5 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Due to recent COVID-19 regulations and restrictions no public services will be held at this time. Please check the funeral home website for service information as it becomes available.
